Why do you call yourself the red woman?
The simple answer would be that my favourite colour is red. The longer, more complicated answer would be that the imagery of the woman in red in fiction and popular culture has always fascinated me. Countless strong women are associated with this strong colour. The titular one that comes to mind would be Melisandre (A Song of Ice and Fire). Others include Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch, Hester Pryne (The Scarlet Letter), Jessica Rabbit, Merida (Brave) and Harley Quinn, just to name a few. I’ve named both heroes and villains, virgins and vixens. Red is the colour of energy and passion. Combine it with female attributes and the endless possibilities of their deeds, that imagery is fascinating to me.
What are you writing about?
I will be writing reviews covering movies, books (if I have time), TV shows (by season) etc., basically any aspect of popular culture I find interesting. Sporadic korean drama reviews might be seen. Related topics will be surfaced as well.
Who are you?
That’s for me to know, and for you to discover. I am Asian, and I feel that this might come out through my writing as accurate Asian representation is quite important to me.
